Research Problem
The main problem that the clinic seems to face is a lack of knowledge that these services are available for students and community members in the Indianapolis area.
We surveyed college age girls to reach these conclusions
Research Instrument
Interview 1
* If you would get a urinary tract infection while in school where would you go?
My Dr. at home when I could get out of class.
* How would you feel about being seen on campus for your women’s health?
I would feel hesitant to since I have never been seen before for my women’s health?
* Have you heard of the women’s health services offered at IUI health clinic? If so how did you hear about it?
I have not heard about it but I am a business major and do not see the health side of campus very often.
* If you had a women’s health issue would you go to the health clinic at IUI to receive treatment?
That would depend on how bad it was and if I could be seen by my normal Dr. or not.
* If you were pregnant while attending IUI would you go to the health clinic at IUI for those appointments? Why?
Probably not since I might not be at the school during my whole pregnancy and afterwards.
Interview 2
* If you would get a urinary tract infection while in school where would you go?
I would probably go to stat care.
* How would you feel about being seen on campus for your women’s health?
I would do that if that option was available to me.
* Have you heard of the women’s health services offered at IUI health clinic? If so how did you hear about it?
I have not, that is cool that it is an option.
* If you had a women’s health issue would you go to the health clinic at IUI to receive treatment?
Yes as long as it is affordable.
* If you were pregnant while attending IUI would you go to the health clinic at IUI for those appointments? Why?
Sure, it would be easy to access and I would not have a far drive to my appointments.
Interview 3
* If you would get a urinary tract infection while in school where would you go?
Go to CVS.
* How would you feel about being seen on campus for your women’s health?
Sure why not, sounds convenient.
* Have you heard of the women’s health services offered at IUI health clinic? If so how did you hear about it?
No I have not heard of them.
* If you had a women’s health issue would you go to the health clinic at IUI to receive treatment?
If I had nowhere else to go.
* If you were pregnant while attending IUI would you go to the health clinic at IUI for those appointments? Why?
No I would be ripped out of school.
Part Two
After gathering this information it made me realize that this service needs to be marketed in places where college-age girls on campus will see it. Along with that, I believe that I need to find a way to market the service in a way that will make girls think of it as more of a reliable and trustworthy option than traveling back to their hometown or going to a stat care.
